Eight days every August, Berkeley County kids show up — with animals raised, projects sewn, and ribbons earned. The fair exists because this community shows up with them.
The Berkeley County Youth Fair is one of the few remaining fairs in the region dedicated entirely to youth exhibitors. Our fair represents 4-H, FFA, FCCLA, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and the Boys & Girls Club — all the organizations giving Berkeley County kids a place to learn, lead, and compete.
Each fair begins in late summer with the Miss Berkeley County Youth Fair contest, then runs for over a week of livestock shows, indoor projects, contests, carnival rides, fair food, and live entertainment — concluding on Saturday with the market animal auction.
From the prize-winning steer in the show ring to the hand-stitched quilt in the Indoor Projects building, every entry on the fairgrounds represents months of work by a young person who chose to put themselves out there. Our job is to make sure that work gets seen.
From livestock shows to indoor projects, every exhibitor gets a stage and a chance to be judged on the merits of what they made.
Eight nights of carnival rides, fair food, concerts, and contests bring Berkeley County together once a year — neighbors meeting neighbors.
79 years of memories, families bringing kids to where they once exhibited themselves. The fair is how Berkeley County hands down what matters.
A great investment in our community that yields high returns and exposure.
