The Berkeley County Youth Fair reserves to its Executive Board the final and absolute right to interpret these rules and regulations and arbitrate, settle, and determine all matters regarding and to add or amend them as they deem advisable.
- Fair Board reserves the right to have any exhibitor and their exhibits (indoor and animals) removed from the fairgrounds without liability during the fair for cause (including but not limited to threatening behavior, intoxication, or unsportsmanlike conduct). Acceptance of this rule is a condition of entry.
- Good sportsmanship should prevail at all times. Any exhibitor, parent, or guardian participating in non-sportsmanship-like conduct will forfeit all premiums and award monies due to the exhibitor, and the exhibitor may lose their privilege to participate in future competitions.
- Any family member of an exhibitor or persons associated with the exhibitor found guilty of criticizing or interfering with the judge, show management, or other exhibitors and other conduct detrimental to the operation of the Berkeley County Youth Fair shall cause the exhibitor to be disqualified from further participation at the fair.
- No coaching from the sidelines for any exhibitor while a livestock show of any species occurs. This practice is distracting to exhibitors in the show ring and unsportsmanlike. One warning will be given to the "coach"; if a second one is necessary, the "coach" will be asked to leave the show area.
- Sportsmanlike conduct is expected of all exhibitors, parents, guardians, and spectators. Any attempt to influence or intimidate a judge or to deceive and obtain a premium by misrepresentation shall result in the exhibitor being excluded from competition. The Executive Committee will ask the exhibitor to leave the fairgrounds, forfeit prize money and ribbons, and remove all exhibits.
- The use of social networking reflects on both you personally and the Berkeley County Youth Fair. BCYF expects you to be responsible and accountable for what you post:
- Never post confidential, sensitive, personal, or proprietary information about BCYF, its volunteers, exhibitors, vendors, customers, or judges.
- Do not create an "official" BCYF blog, social media page, website, or any other online presence without prior written authorization from the BCYF Executive Committee.
- Obey the law, including those laws governing defamation, discrimination, harassment, and copyright.
- The purpose of the Berkeley County Youth Fair is to promote positive youth development, and unsportsmanlike conduct in any form will not be tolerated by exhibitors, parents/guardians, or spectators. Violations may be grounds for being asked to leave fair premises, forfeit prize money and ribbons, and remove all exhibits.
