When you buy a market animal at the BCYF auction, you're investing directly in the youth who raised it — funding college, future projects, and the next generation of Berkeley County agriculture.
Friday Night Doors
Auction begins 6:30 PM at the Indoor Arena. Arrive early to register as a buyer and look over the animals.
Pay The Same Night
Buyers settle their accounts the night of the sale. Cash, check, and standard payment methods accepted.
Receive Your Photo
Buyers receive a printed photo with the exhibitor and their animal as a thank-you for supporting youth agriculture.
FOR EXHIBITORS

Selling at the auction

The Berkeley County Youth Fair reserves to its Executive Board the final and absolute right to interpret these rules and regulations and arbitrate, settle, and determine all matters in regard to and to add or amend them as they may deem advisable.
  1. An exhibitor may consign one species to sell on Friday, August 7, 2026. Exhibitor has until 6:00 PM on Saturday, August 1, 2026 to consign one market animal. If under 18, a parent or guardian must co-sign the form. Consignment forms go to the species chair at registration or at the main office.
  2. Grand Champion and Reserve Champion market steers, hogs, goats, lambs, and meat pen rabbits must be sold.
  3. All beef sale animals must have a serviceable rope halter on the animal, left on for personnel to move animals after the sale. Halters are returned Saturday morning for pickup.
  4. Only Berkeley County Youth Fair issued awards (banners, trophies, ribbons) may be displayed in the sale ring.
  5. No adhesives, glue, dyes, or paints may be applied or used on market animals during the sale.
  6. Eligible exhibitors may have eligible substitutes sell their animal on sale night for agricultural or educational reasons. Proper documentation required. Notification must be in writing at registration on August 1, 2026.
  7. Exhibitors or eligible substitutes selling market animals must adhere to the 2026 BCYF dress code for livestock showing.
  8. Only market animals sold through the BCYF Livestock Auction will be transported to slaughterhouses or other livestock auction venues.
