Showmanship

Five tiers, broken by age as of January 1, 2026. Senior, Intermediate, and Junior winners advance for Overall Grand Champion Showman.

Senior Showmanship
★ AGES 15+ · OR PREV. INTERMEDIATE WINNER
Ages 15 and older as of January 1, 2026, plus previous Intermediate winners.
Intermediate Showmanship
★ AGES 12–14 · OR PREV. JUNIOR WINNER
Ages 12 to 14 as of January 1, 2026, plus previous Junior winners.
Junior Showmanship
★ AGES 9–11 (CURRENT FAIR YEAR)
Ages 9 to 11 during the current fair year. Many exhibitors start here.
Overall Grand Champion Showman
Class 01 (Previous) and Class 08 (Overall) winners advance to Round Robin Preliminary Showmanship.

Breeding Gilts

Breeding gilts shown by birth month across 12 acceptable breeds (Berkshire, Chester, Duroc, Hampshire, Hereford, Landrace, Poland, Spot, Yorkshire, Tamworth, AOB, Crossbred). Owned and pre-registered by June 15, 2026.

Market Hogs

Three weight divisions. Sale weight: 225–295 lbs. Hogs sell 1st in the livestock auction order — sale night opens with the swine ring.
Light Weight
Lower weight bracket. Grand, Reserve + 3rd selected.
Medium Weight
Middle weight bracket. Grand, Reserve + 3rd selected.
Heavy Weight
Top weight bracket. Grand, Reserve + 3rd selected.
Ownership Date
Must be owned by April 25, 2026.
Tagging Date
April 25, 2026, 7:00 AM – 10:00 AM at the fairgrounds.
Gilts or Barrows
Either may be entered. Recommended born January 1, 2026, or later.
Sale Weight Range
Must weigh between 225 lbs and 295 lbs to sell at the fair.

Swine-specific requirements

Automatic Waterers
Exhibitors not using the automatic waterer for hogs are responsible for covering the nipple. Optional waterers must not extend beyond the top of the pen.
12 Acceptable Breeds
Berkshire, Chester, Duroc, Hampshire, Hereford, Landrace, Poland, Spot, Yorkshire, Tamworth, AOB, Crossbred.
Underweight/Overweight
Hogs outside 225–295 lb range shown for participation only — not eligible for sale, grand champion, or rate of gain.
Class Entries
One animal per class. Gilts or barrows may be entered for market hogs.
